This email is to inform of the wonderful service Static Dance provides us as customers. Last year was our first year with Static Dance and we couldn’t be happier.

The business is very professional with the personal touch from both of you being heavily involved. I don’t know how you do it as you both seem to always be at either studio.

Our girls love your dance school and we are very happy with all their teachers. We are extremely grateful that you have staff on hand, if we are ever late to pick up, to ensure the children’s safety.

Good luck with the awards as you deserve all the accolades you get.

Testimonial for Static Dance Studio

Inspiring, creative, supportive, professional, caring, successful…… the list of adjectives to describe Static Dance Studios is endless.

Children are an amazing, precious gift that many of us parents are extremely protective of. Every day hundreds of parents confidently send their children into the safe and skilled hands of the Static Dance staff.

I have 3 young girls under the age of 8, one of which has been under the care of a phycologist for a diagnosed anxiety disorder. Speaking to people, interacting with peers, being apart from parents were daunting experiences for her. So we searched for a Dance studio to try to get some social interaction, fitness and most of all build a bit of confidence. Unfortunately our first studio did not help and actually made the situation worse. We stuck it out for 18 months to give it some time. Our other 2 daughters were also not enjoying it and didn’t want to go. After a long chat with another very satisfied client of Static and some research (we were going to be more prepared this time) we headed to Static to meet some of the staff.

Wow, wow, wow !!! Right from the very first meeting, the enrolment and the amazing classes, Static Dance Studios outperformed our expectations. Our anxious little girl was happily skipping off to classes, talking with the teachers and begging to stay longer. Here was a child who was withdrawn, wouldn’t speak to her preschool teachers and had had over a year of psychologist sessions, actually interacting and thriving. A few months into their first year, her acro teacher was so excited and rushed to tell me after class that our silent little mouse was now talking in the class and she even had to remind her not to talk while the teacher was giving instructions to the class. It was so reassuring that the teacher was as excited about this as we were. Instead of this being a negative conversation with teacher after class and that she was being naughty, this staff member realised that this was an amazing milestone. The teacher was interested in her as a person not just how well she could kick her leg or point her toes.

We have now been at Static dance Studios for 3 years and have 3 happily little dancers. Even after moving 35km away, we are happy to drive the 40 minutes to stay at Static Dance. We both have full time jobs and time is pretty stretched, but there’s no way in the world we would be searching for a studio closer to home. After chatting with other parents and observing other studios at eisteddfods, it is obvious that the staff at Static genuinely have the student’s best interests at heart.

As a primary school teacher myself, I know how hard it can be working with children and us over protective parents. The Static staff are always calm and reassuring to both students and parents. Every child is treated as a person and not a number. No child is made to feel like the clumsy one shoved in the backline. Every student gets an important part in every dance and gets their time in the spotlight. They may be the one who leads a line out or gets to be the main person in the final pose. Every single student gets to feel special and important and not just there to make up the numbers. One of our girls rushed home to tell me that she gets to start off the dance on chair while everyone else is standing. Things like this may seem small and insignificant, but to a 6 year old, that’s her special part and her time to get noticed without any pressure placed upon her.

At the beginning of the year, the girls were chatting about what dance teachers they were hoping to get this year. It was reassuring to hear them talk about 10 different staff members. They felt happy, comfortable and confident to have any teacher. There’s not just one or two teachers at the studio who the parents and students all want, the staff are all amazing and have all been at the studio for many, many years. High staff turnover is usually a sign of a poorly functioning, mismanaged business. The staff at Static are highly trained experts. It’s not just a group teenage girls who like to dance trying to control a group of 4 year old screaming little future ballerinas. This is a professional business that’s here for the long term. The staff are professional, highly trained and happy working at the Studio.

Dance Studios are everywhere. Everyone thinks that they can dance so they can open a studio. It takes more than just being to doing the splits and perfectly pointed toes. Dance mums like to talk and always want the best for their children. Us dance mums don’t get that “Dance Mums” name for no reason. We’re a tough lot to please and boy can we whinge and complain, which is the reason why Static is growing at a rapid pace. Good old word of mouth. An unsatisfied dance mum will shout it from the roof tops. The dance mums (and dads!) at Static proudly tell their friends and acquaintances how good Static Dance Studios really are. The studio is now like family. We boast to anyone around. A high percentage of new enrolments have come to Static from word of mouth. It’s a bit of a cut throat industry where people pull their children out at the drop of a hat. This is definitely not the case for Static. At last year’s presentation day, the amount of students receiving their 10 and 5 year medals was amazing. Parents and students are truly happy there.

Costumers rarely stick with a business for 5 or even 10 years, Static Dance student is rare.

People can advertise and promise you the world. You won’t find many Dance Studios that offer the individualised, caring and support service that Static stand for and that they give to their customers.

Not only has SDS given my boys confidence they have given them opportunities such as being part of show group performing in different areas, they also had an experience of a lifetime performing at international dance championships at Melbourne’s crown casino.Lesley Ellis
My name is Lesley and I have 2 boys who attend static dance studios (SDS), my boys have been dancing their for almost 6years. My eldest son Bradley who will be 10yrs old in May has anniexty is no longer the same child. SDS has given Bradley confidence, self esteem and taught him that he has the ability to do anything if he tries. Bradley has ever had many friends but again SDS has changed that the kids their are so supportive of each other, nearly everyone from SDS knows who our boys are, the teenagers are always willing to help the younger kids.

Our other son Nicholas who is now 8years old is also doing amazing thanks to SDS. Nicholas never had much confidence in trying new things but SDS teachers took their time to teach him things he never thought he could do, Nicholas used this at home too, he started copying video clips and YouTube teaching himself new dance styles that SDS don’t teach such as popping and locking/ animation style. Nicholas was so excited each time he learnt a move and couldn’t wait to show SDS teachers and peers, we were surprised when teachers incorporated Nicholas styles in his dance classes, they always encouraged him to learn more.

Not only has SDS given my boys confidence they have given them opportunities such as being part of show group performing different areas, they also had an experience of a lifetime performing at international dance championships at Melbourne’s crown casino. My boys have also represented SDS in solo and duo competions placing either 1st,2nd or 3rd.

When my boys first started at SDS we were told by many that our boys will be forever teased and bullied because they were boys dancing, we shrugged off all negative and 6yrs on our boys still dancing and if anything bullying has stopped now bullies ask my boys for dance tips and now because of SDS my boys have formed their own little dance crews at school teaching others some dance moves.

Static dance studios is not a dance school it’s a second family, it’s a true blessing the most gorgeous people work and teach their, they take the time to talk and listen to you, you always feel welcomed when you walk in their door. I can’t praise SDS enough for all they have done for my son’s if it wasn’t for SDS I don’t think my kids would be the happy, healthy, confident children they are today. SDS is not just about dance it’s about teaching respect, having fun, realising your capable of anything if you try.

SDS also gave my family an opportunity to give to those less fortunate by letting us help and donate to their fundraiser for project f1j1 which we were able to donate clothes and toys to orphanage in Fiji and we also donated school supplies to a child in Fiji, all families supported this and cause we were all so touched by how much how teachers wanted to help those less fortunate we raised enough money to send them over their and teach those kids dancing too. Static dance studios is by far the most amazing place, with great staff and happy and friendly environment.

Thanks for your time,

Lesley Ellis.

My daughter and I were welcomed immediately by Matt, Trish and all of the staff. Matt and Trish always put the children and their feelings before anything else, which is a great testament of who they are as teachers and as people.Jo Stack
To Whom It May Concern,

My daughter has been dancing at Static Dance Studios for just over a year. She previously danced at another dance studio, however that studio holds nothing in comparison to what Static and its staff have to offer all their students and their families.

My daughter and I were welcomed immediately by Matt, Trish and all of the staff. Matt and Trish always put the children and their feelings before anything else, which is a great testament of who they are as teachers and as people. Static offers a wide range of classes to suit all age groups and skill levels. Matt and Trish are always available to their students, and any questions or queries their parents may have.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Static Dance Studios to any future clients.

Regards,

Jo Stack.

Matt & Trish have developed a wonderful family atmosphere at their studio. Not only is it a family run business, they treat their students and parents as one big extended family.Joh, Nev and Zoey
Our daughter commenced dancing at SDS in 2000 at the age of 4. We had concerns with her choice to dance as we didn’t want her in a dance school which created the ‘Dance Mum’ atmosphere, nor did we want her in a studio that dressed her in costumes and makeup that was beyond her years.

After a number of visits to many dance schools in the local area, we selected SDS we are so glad we joined them as our daughter absolutely loved it!

The first year for me was a little hard at times, however Matt, Trish and their staff were fantastic the whole way through. Matt & Trish have developed a wonderful family atmosphere at their studio. Not only is it a family run business, they treat their students and parents as one big extended family.

The teachers they employ have a love and commitment to dance and the students they teach. They are dedicated, highly skilled, caring and the kids always come first.

The opportunities they provide for their students and families, through performances, knowledge, and their involvement in every aspect of their dance world is outstanding.

As a community focused business, it is wonderful to see Matt and Trish not only provide opportunities for dancing and cheerleading, they also encourage the local businesses which are run by parents and students of the SDS family. They cross promote the businesses and encourage others to shine with them. To see a 16yo grow in her dance and cheer at SDS, whilst also having the opportunity to start a little cake decorating business on the side, just shows the dedication and commitment Matt and Trish have to their students and the local community.

Through their recent Project F1J1 they taught our kids the value of helping others, and giving back to those who may be less fortunate than us. This in itself is a valuable lesson that my daughter may not have received at any other dance studio.

We have since relocated to Queensland, and the staff at SDS have been nothing but supportive. It was a hard decision, but they were there to help out with selection of our daughters new dance/cheer studio, to fill in paperwork for her tryouts, and we have been back to Sydney and welcomed with open arms a number of times in the last 6 weeks. Our daughter has been invited back to class when we are in Sydney and this just shows that we aren’t just enrolment numbers to Matt and Trish – we are family.

We wish them all the very best in the upcoming awards – they are truly deserving.

The staff at Static treat each child as a person. They are taught, encouraged and yes, quietly disciplined when the need arises. The opportunities that all students are given are amazing.Judy Lezon
To Whom It May Concern:

I cannot speak highly enough of Static Dance Studios. To illustrate I would like to share our personal story. My daughter started training in ballet when she was in Year 1 at primary school. She danced with a small local studio until she started high school. She learnt ballet, tap and jazz and always worked exceptionally hard, did her exams and always tried her best. However, the rewards were not always encouraging and there were not many opportunities. She was never made to feel special or good about herself.

It was a big step for us when high school started and we decided to move her to a new studio, we did our research and tried many places. Somehow, the day we walked into Static and did a trial class we just knew we had found our home. Although my daughter is (I believe) a talented dancer, she had a low belief in herself and her abilities. We are now in our fifth year at Static and the two Principals and all the teachers in this wonderful studio have encouraged and helped her to grow as a dancer and as a person. She performs in the Show Group at Eisteddfods and is now doing some outside work such as flash mobs.

The staff at Static treat each child as a person. They are taught, encouraged and yes, quietly disciplined when the need arises. The opportunities that all students are given are amazing. We personally have been on a cruise where the kids were able to perform in the main entertainment area to packed out audiences. Next year there is the opportunity for those who want, to travel to Hong Kong and perform.

The Static Showgroups perform at many different eisteddfods throughout the year, (even in a cheerleading competition last year) and there is usually an annual trip to Melbourne to compete at a high level.

The studio also gives back to the community, with all senior teachers travelling to Fiji last year to live with and teach dance to village kids. The whole studio was behind this initiative and donations of backpacks and lunch boxes were given by families, shipped to Fiji in a container and given out to the delighted village kids. It was a wonderful opportunity for our kids to understand that they can do something to help those who have much less than they.

Static Studios continues to stay up with industry trends, offering classes that are in demand. Cheerleading was added two or three years ago, acting and singing classes are also offered. This year they have added aerial lessons and the studio has been fitted out with silks and the spanish hoop.

The door is always open, the welcome is always warm. This is a business that is run with love and deep concern and respect for the students and families that are members. I wish them all the best in this Awards opportunity and no matter what the outcome, they are definitely winners in our eyes.

Sincerely Yours

Judy Lezon

As a parent, I can not speak highly enough of the staff at Static Dance Studios, they run a dance school that is a warm, nurturing environment with a friendly family feel, everyone is made to feel welcome…

Kym Morris
Our eldest daughter started dancing as a 3 year old in the babies class at Static Dance in term 1, 2008 and has been part of Static Dance Studios in Glendenning ever since, over the last 7 years we have watched her grow through the experiences offered to her as a dancer, build confidence and make friendships that I know she will have for her life time.

All 5 of our children are now enrolled at Static Dance Studios learning a wide range of different styles of dance from jazz and ballet to hip hop and acrobatics from brilliant, dedicated, trained dance teachers.

Static Dance studios have given us the opportunity to take our children overseas and on many interstate trips for them to dance and perform and they have enjoyed every second!

As a parent, I can not speak highly enough of the staff at Static Dance Studios, they run a dance school that is a warm, nurturing environment with a friendly family feel, everyone is made to feel welcome, every child is recognised yearly with a participation award (trophy/medallion), it truly is a wonderful place to be!
